Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and of course eaten way too much food. With plenty of leftovers from your roast dinner there is only one thing to do. That’s right! Make Bubble and Squeak.

Traditional it would be used to go onto the Full English breakfast but modern times it is a way not to waste any delicious vegetables and potatoes.
It should be on everyone radar come the festive period with plenty of vegetables to chose from. Cabbage and Potatoes are usually used to make Bubble and Squeak. But any other leftovers like carrots, sprouts or peas can be used.
What’s in the name?
Bubble and Squeak got its name back in the 18th century and that the cabbage made bubbling and Squeaking noises while during the cooking process.
Is it easy to make?
Absolutely it is. There isn’t actually a recipe to use. Just whatever is leftover.
Crush your roast potatoes and sliced up your vegetables, mix well together and season with salt and pepper. Pan fry in a frying pan in a little oil until the outsides are crispy. Depending on the thickness of your cake pop into the oven to finish off.
Can you add to your bubble and Squeak?
Yes by adding crispy bacon lardons to the cake or diced chorizo. You can also top the cake with a delicious poached egg.
